Delta Sigma Phi has always been a fraternity that stands apart, founded on principles that challenged the norms of its time. From the beginning, our members embraced bold ideas, choosing to lead with inclusivity and integrity when many others did not. This spirit of innovation and conviction has defined us since our founding in 1899.
At a time when fraternities restricted membership based on religion, Delta Sigma Phi took a different path. On December 10, 1899, at the City College of New York, we became the first fraternity to welcome both Christian and Jewish students. Guided by the belief that friendship and brotherhood should transcend societal divisions, we set a new standard for what a fraternity could be.
Today, more than a century later, Delta Sigma Phi continues to build upon this legacy. Our founders' vision of inclusion and integrity drives us forward, as we bring together men from all walks of life into a brotherhood rooted in personal development, unity, and the understanding that strong relationships are the foundation of a fulfilling life.
Over the years, Delta Sigma Phi has continued to grow and evolve, thanks in large part to these men—our past Executive Directors. Each of these leaders have left their thumbprint on the Fraternity, helping shape our organization into what it is today.
